Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic and insidious disease that on the rise worldwide. pharmacotherapy complex varied, recent studies of novel antihyperglycemic drugs have raised important considerations for management T2DM. This review provides an overview diagnosis T2DM, glycemic targets individuals with T2DM diagnosis, outlines general approach to emphasis how select appropriate using fictional case as example. Hypoglycemia, complication pharmacotherapy, macrovascular microvascular resulting from other forms diabetes mellitus are also briefly reviewed.
